Be sure to check for such valuable things as: having a pouch on the seat back (This has none.); having magnets to hold the food rests when they are 'folded back' (This has none.); the height of the grips for pushing the chair (These are very high, so need to be folded down each time the chair is transported, and the mechanism to do so is flimsy.); the height mobility, and padding of the arm rests (These are high - 11 inches from the seat to the top of arm rest. The padding is reasonable.); the width of seating area (Narrow in this case -16 inches.); double check the weight of the chair (17.4 pounds without the footrests in this case.); the ease with which the brakes can be secured and released - (The brakes can be secured and released by hand or foot in this case.); whether or not the chair is returnable and terms for the same (This chair is non-returnable.)I prefer the Drive TS19 transport chair. It's a little more costly, but has far less deficits. (Check it out.) The one I've been using needs to be replaced. This particular model is a little hard to find and procure these days (I had trouble with procurement so ordered this Drive ATC19-RD. Since then I found, ordered, and will hopefully receive a Drive TS19 soon.)My wife had back surgery and could not walk. The transit chair was the perfect thing to get. As she got better, she would push the chair to practice walking again on good days. Lightweight and folded easily into the back of my van.....the price was right too!Lightweight and easy to put in trunk of my Prius. Main reason I bought it was because it was light weight.I only use it to take my mom to the doctor. At home she uses a more sturdy one. This transport chair is so light and folds up small enough to fit in any car we have tried (including a pretty compact car of one of my family members). The one thing that I would say that keeps this from being five star is that it does not go across any bumps or door lips well at all. Our bedroom has a threshold that is slightly angled on both sides, but it is more than a quarter inch high in the center of the threshold. When going over it, there has been times the car stopped in its track and jarred me. You need to have enough speed to get over spots like that. And it is difficult for transporting in parking lots that have uneven areas. But overall, since I have to always be in a wheelchair (and I am only 42 years old), it is great for when I have to ride in a car with a family member or friend who can't accommodate my electric wheelchair.First, I am the "rider" and my husband is the "pusher" of the chair. The chair arrived this afternoon. I found it very easy to unpack. Open one end. tip the box over and pull the box up. Added the wheels and we were ready to go.I was nervous about this chair because other reviewers said the seat was too narrow. (Rated 19") Others said the foot rests were too short. I didn't find either of these to be a problem. I am 5'8" and weigh 158 pounds. Had a few inches extra for my posterior. My husband felt the chair was light and easy to carry. He also liked that the height of the "pushing" handles was high enough. He is 6' tall.We took it on a test ride and both of us were happy with the chair.Only problem was adjusting the length of the footrests. I was happy with the height as it was but there was no specific instruction as to how to adjust. They mentioned bolts on the footrest and said they could be used to adjust. You could probably call customer service for help on that but we didn't bother.Very happy with my chair. Will save me a lot of "discomfort."My 92-year-old neighbor gets around fine in the house, but needs a little help when going to doctor's appointments. I don't like her using public wheelchairs, so bought this Drive model. It's lightweight, folds up quickly and easily, and has foot rests that can be used, removed, or moved out of the way. The best thing is that the top of the back part (where the hand grips are that you push with) folds down, so the chair easily fits in the car trunk.Rolls well, easy to turn, breaks work well.I would have liked to have had the back to be adjustable. It sat me up too rigid and after about 20 minutes I was really tired. But overall, I was very pleased with it. We bought it for me to be able to shop in large stores and it was perfect where there was no place to sit down. My husband who pushed me said it was very easy to push and very easy to unfold and fold back up again. He was leery about getting it, but was very happy when he saw how well it worked I would recommend it to anyone. If the user is very large it might not roll so easy. This was everything I expected it to be. You won't be disappointed, it was exactly as advertised, and it arrived 2 days early.Have to send it back. ? Doesn't fit in my hallways. Might be better for a bigger home.Practical and well priced.overall a good chair to push your kids and their friends around inVery light. Easy to install.
