Length is great. The waist band did not have as much stretch as I expected but it fit. I bought my regular size.I return this because it was way too hard to zip on my own, and it didn’t look great with the pleading and where it hit on me.This skirt surprised me. It's well made and the elastic in the back is awesome. It's thick and comfy, adding a smoothing effect. This stretches nice, in a way that is sturdy, so you can wear it high, mid-torso, or slouched a little. The ratio of the sturdiness of the band to the weight of the skirt is perfect (I own a garment that has crappy elastic and the garment is too heavy to stay on my hips...grrr...NOT THE CASE HERE!). I have a 35 to 35.5 inch waist (depending on the time of the month) and the XL fits me perfect, right in the middle of the range---not too tight, not too loose. This has pockets, which I forgot about, because it's sown so well that you absolutely cannot see the pockets of this skirt in your silhouette when you are wearing it (another bad purchase, where the pockets give me lumps on my sides--looks horrible). The material is somewhat thick, it's more like a cotton twill. The fabric has nice drape, but the thickness of it lends it to cooler weather and you will absolutely need a slip or crinoline if you are wearing tights under it for warmth. This is why I deducted 1/2 a star. It's not that the material is bad, it's that a nicer material and/or some satin lining would make this an amazing skirt. But it's a good value for the money, and I may buy other colors, which is saying a lot, because I have never wanted to do that with another skirt I purchased on Amazon. Study the size chart well, and try to shoot for somewhere in the middle of the range of waist circumference and you should be golden. I am 5'7" and this hits me about 3-4" below the bottom of my knees. If you are short, you may need to hem this.This is hands-down the cutest skirt I've bought in a while, and I will be purchasing other colors! I was worried about sizing at first (I'm between an average of 18-22 in jeans, but i think by now we all know how women's clothing is with sizing) but the elastic at the back by the zipper is very comfortable, and allows for some fluctuations or bloating. The yellow color is very bright and so far, I have not noticed any issues with the color bleeding in the wash. I wore a petticoat under it and felt so cute as I went about my daily routine, but it is an absolutely adorable skirt without it, too! The pockets are sturdy and rather spacious, so I was able to easily carry my phone, wallet, keys, mints, etc. in them without any problems --the weight didn't even cause a sag in the skirt.The only issues I have had with this item is that the yellow is a bit see-through without a petticoat or a slip, and it likes to wrinkle pretty easily.Purchased for Sockhop. Met need but poor quality due to construction. Had to re-sew to reinforce some of stiching.Looks and feels good I put a can-can under mine to give it fullness. The skirt was perfect for the 1950’s day.I can confirm the navy polka dot & solid black I received have very adequate pockets! I ordered a L & the skirt fit very nicely. I am able to pull it over my hips without unzipping it. I normally wear a size 6 in American Eagle jeans & a medium in dresses/skirts. This was so much fun to wear & I was comfy all day!Update: The “black & white check” is not black; it is navy. It’s still super cute & has pockets so I’m not complaining but black is black & navy is not black. I also ordered it in a medium just to try it out. It was a little more snug than the large but not to the point I would’ve thought “I need a large” if I had originally purchased in this size. I found both sizes to be flattering & comfortable.With the elastic waistband, I was hoping the skirt would be a lot smaller in the waist but it definitely is a lot looser than expected.I am 5'10, 125lbs and I ended up having to pin the waist so it doesn't fall down. The length is great, but for a small, given the measurements provided, the skirt hangs way more than I would've liked.Perfect for my mini mouse costume.The skirt is pretty long, but the elastic band makes it perfect to wear as a high waisted piece.It twirls really well too
