didn't fit in the breastsI am a 5'4" and 160 lbs. and carry most of my weight in my hips and butt so I went for the large to make sure the dress is "flowy" enough. The dress fits almost perfectly except the armpits are a little tight. Many times when I get a large in things, the shoulders and chest are a little big so I was really surprised that this one fit this way. I am still able to wear the dress with no problem but if my chest or arms were any larger, I would not be able to. Other than that, the dress is very lightweight and cool for the summer. You can see through it a bit so I wear boy shorts and a sports bra or tank under it.I live in Southern Arizona, so needless to say the summers are hot! This is a great loose fitting, thin summer dress. I ordered it in a size medium, which is probably a bit too big for me. I usually wear between a size small and a medium. I am 5'4" and I weigh around 125 lbs. I'm not going to lie, I was kind of swimming in the size medium. I would say if you want a bit of extra room, order your normal size, otherwise I think it would be wise to size down. I wouldn't consider the fabric to be the softest. I actually think it's a little bit scratchy. I'm hoping that it might soften up after a few washes. It is made of primarily polyester, so also technically not the best breathability, but the dress is so flowy, that I had no issues getting hot in it.This dress would also be very forgiving if you had bumps in places you didn't want them. It is very flowing, and therefore quite forgiving. It's definitely not tight fitting in any way.Overall, I really like this dress. It is quite large and comfortable. It's nice and flowy, so it keeps me cool in these Arizona Summers. I would definitely order it again, but would probably size down. I would recommend it.So okay, this is a nice summer dress and my wife says that given the "cute" design with a sort of high waist (to me it looked a bit Regency) it's something she has to be in the mood to wear. She said "certain casual occasions" and we finally got that down to meaning outdoor things more than indoor things.However she was quite pleased with the cut and the quality. She said the color was fine, I thought it was a little orange-y. She says it is well made.Maybe it's a matter of taste and I definitely defer to her judgment, which is: A nice summer outdoor dress, when you're in the mood, made nicely and looking good. Four stars overall, one off for the "moodiness" aspect.When I read “button down” I assumed that you could button and unbutton the front, but the buttons are just for show. In any case the dress is really cute, it flows nicely, looks great on, and can be worn on the beach or dressed up.It’s lightweight so works really well as a summer dress!Love the poly / spandex blend, super comfortable. I generally wear a 14 / large and this dress is snug in the chest/underarm area. (Ordered a L) Aside from that, it's a nice loose-fitting dress. For my height, 5'2 the hem is mid-knee.If I found more colors that I had to have, I would get more.Buttons are decorative, the dress slides over your head.I ordered a small and it fot nicely. The top portion was a little snug on my 36 c breast, but wasn't too bad. The rest of the dress was flowey and very falling. I love it.This is such cute dress and I got the green one in Medium (as recommended by Amazon), but it is tight in the chest area. I ham top heavy and probably would have been better off with a large. Even with some tightness in chest area, it is still wearable. Other than that, the material is soft and sturdy and the dress flows nicely. Definitely recommend!
